Calendulas have been used for many centuries for culinary and medicinal purposes. Calendula, or Pot Marigold, comes from southern Europe.
Suitable for cutting, beds and borders, and the pollinator garden.
Provide light shade in hot climates during the summer. Prefers rich, moderately moist and well-drained soils. Remove spent flowers to prolong blooming.
The flower petals are edible and have a slightly bitter and peppery flavor.
