A widespread species from most of the Eastern United States.
Found frequently in fence rows, roadsides, fields and prairies and pastures. A known favorite to the monarch butterfly.
Grows readily from seed and spreads quickly by deep rhizomes.
Easy to plant. Prepare soil. Sow seeds. Cover with a light dusting of soil. Keep moist during germination.
