Annual herb, ready in 70 days.
Bushy plants about 1½' tall. Grown as a tender perennial in warmer regions. The leaves are used for seasoning. Gather leaves just before the flower buds begin to open and before the heat of day begins to decrease the fragrant oil in the leaves. Dry in shaded, warm place. Turn leaves daily. When dry, crumble leaves, remove stems and store in glass jars or bottles with stoppered tops for use when needed.
