Regular lawn fertilizing is the most important step in creating a healthy attractive lawn. In some cases insecticides and herbicides can be reduced by adopting a regular fertilizing program. This is why we do not promote a fixed 4 step program that assumes that the use of insecticides and herbicides are necessary. The 4 step programs that you often find in chain garden stores do not embrace Intergraded Pest Management. Simply put, Intergraded Pest Management is a philosophy that promotes the responsible use of pesticides. Do not assume that you have a grub problem without investigating first. Apply pesticides at the correct time to increase their effectiveness. Consider using fertilizers to help compete with unwanted weeds.
