Summer Savory (Herb)

Annual herb. Ready in 60 days.   Small leaves produced on 18" plants. Both leaves and stems are aromatic and are dried and ground for seasoning. For all year use, pick the tender tops just prior to the time the flower buds open and before the heat of day begins to decrease the fragrant oil in the leaves. Dry in shaded, warm place. Turn daily.  When dry, crush and store in jars or bottles with stopper tops.

Annual Herb. Indispensable for seasoning tomato sauce. Use fresh or dry in soups, stews, with vegetables, eggs, and fish. For all year use, dry the leaves and store in jars and bottles with stoppered tops. Gather leaves just before the flower buds begin to open and before the heat of day begins to decrease the fragrant oil in the leaves. Dry in shaded, warm place. Turn leaves daily. When dry, crumble leaves and remove stems. Plants grow 1 - 1½' tall.

Bushy plants about 1½' tall. Grown as a tender perennial in warmer regions. The leaves are used for seasoning. Gather leaves just before the flower buds begin to open and before the heat of day begins to decrease the fragrant oil in the leaves.  Dry in shaded, warm place. Turn leaves daily. When dry, crumble leaves, remove stems and store in glass jars or bottles with stoppered tops for use when needed.
